    Open Fuwa

    Getting Started walks you through Screen Recording permission and your first pin. You can return to it from the sidebar.

    Choose a window

    Find it by its thumbnail in the window picker, or bring it forward and press ⌥⌘P.

    Keep a reference nearby

    Choose Reference Window to move and resize the picture freely, crop to the area you need, or pause on a useful frame.

Set opacity from 20–100%. Hover to see the picture clearly; turn on Enlarge on hover for a larger preview when there is room beside it.

Keep your desktop tidy

Right-click to choose a small, medium or large reference. Arrange several references in a corner of their display without changing what is paused or hidden.

Make room when you need it

Hide and restore pictures with ⌥⇧⌘P. Or enable Hold ⌃⌥ to hide in Settings: release either key to return to the previous visibility.

Common questions

Can I still click the window underneath?

Views that follow their source let clicks pass through. Independent references accept dragging and resizing, but do not send clicks or typing to the source app. Their enlarged hover previews are click-through.

How do I return to the original app?

Double-click a reference or choose Open Source App. Fuwa brings that app forward; if it has several windows, the app decides which one appears.

Does freezing stop the original window?

No. Fuwa holds the frame while the original app keeps running. Resume live to see its current content.

Are the canvas and phone preview part of Fuwa?

They are website examples for trying pins and frozen views. Fuwa pins windows already open on your Mac. The phone preview supports HTML and CSS.

What permissions does Fuwa need?

Allow Screen Recording in Getting Started or when you first pin a window. Accessibility permission is not needed. Protected video content may not be visible.

How do I install Fuwa?

Open the DMG and drag Fuwa.app to Applications. The app is not Apple-notarized yet. If macOS blocks it, check that it came from the official release page, then follow Apple’s instructions below.
